A couple of weeks ago we were delighted to be part of the Dementia Community webinar series, which offers regular, free-to-attend talks on a whole variety of topics. We did one last year around environmental design (which you can watch here) and this time the focus was on our Crossing the Line project.
On 27th April Research Associate Thomas Morton and Research Assistant Jennifer Bray spoke about the Crossing the Line project more broadly including the underpinning research that was conducted, before discussing the various resources created with family carers, for family carers, to offer support when they are needing to provide personal care to a family member living with dementia. These resources include a series of 15 booklets on a variety of topics relating to personal care, as identified through the research, short video clips sharing advice and experiences from family carers, and a website to house it all.

The webinar proved very popular and there was a good level of interaction and engagement during the Q&A session following the main presentation. If you missed the webinar you can find a recording of it here, and the Dementia Community YouTube channel contains recordings of all of their previous webinars. We’d also recommend keeping an eye on the Dementia Community website where you can register to attend webinars on a range of different topics in the future. So thanks to Dementia Community for inviting us to deliver the webinar, and we look forward to seeing what other topics they’ve got coming up.
