As we rapidly approach halfway through the year (how did that happen?), it felt about time to give a quick round up of some of the things that have been going on recently that we haven’t already talked about in previous blogs.
New articles published
In the past few weeks we’ve had two new articles published.
- Bray, J. and Payne-Lunn, S. (2026) Worcester Life Stories, Internet Archaeology 73. https://intarch.ac.uk/journal/issue73/8/ – This article came from our Worcester Life Stories project where we evaluated two new online platforms aiming to encourage people to engage with heritage-based resources. You can find out more about the project in a previous blog post.
- Jacobson-Wright, N. & Beeson, S. (2026) Namaste Care Education Project – A case study for co-production. Journal of Dementia Care, 34(3), 30-33 – This article looks at our Namaste Care course and how we involved people with lived experience of dementia in its development. We can’t share the article directly, but you can find out more via the Dementia Community website. We’re still finalising dates and details, but we’re hoping to run another Namaste Care course in August/September so if you are interested in finding out more please contact us at dementia@worc.ac.uk
We’ve also got several article in various stages of writing/submission/review, so it might not be too long before we have further articles to share with you.
Education courses
- The next cohort of our Championing Physical Activity course starts next week, but if this is something that you might be interested in please contact us at dementia@worc.ac.uk for more information and to get your name on a list for future courses.
- A few weeks ago we delivered a Dementia Awareness course at the Guildhall here in Worcester for individuals from a range of local organisations. It was a great group that appeared to find the course useful and worthwhile, with all participants saying they would recommend it to others. If you’re looking for something similar, why not get in touch with us to see what we could offer?
- Although our Postgraduate Certificate modules have only just finished, we’re already thinking about September and our next modules. Over the Summer we’ll be getting everything set up ready to welcome new and existing students. If you’re interested in studying with us but aren’t sure what’s involved or where to get started, we’ve got an open evening event coming up on 1st July where you can ask us any questions you might have. Email catrin.jones@worc.ac.uk to book a slot.

We’re also working on a dementia awareness course within the University of Worcester for staff and students, and hope to be able to share more information about that soon.
That’s on top of all our ongoing research projects, so plenty to keep us out of mischief!
