Progress is underway!<\/em>\u00a0<\/strong>The inaugural Advisory Council on Parkinson\u2019s Research, Care, and Services (ACPRCS) meeting took place on June 29, 2026 \u2014\u00a0an important step\u00a0forward in the national effort to prevent, diagnose, treat, and\u00a0ultimately cure\u00a0Parkinson\u2019s disease and related disorders.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n During this first meeting, Parkinson\u2019s disease Congressional champions, Representatives Gus Bilirakis (R-FL)\u00a0and Paul Tonko (D-NY) provided opening remarks and expressed the urgent need to support PD research, services, and efforts to develop a cure. NIH\/NINDS leadership introduced ACRPCS members,\u00a0including representatives from various federal\u00a0agencies,\u00a0people\u00a0living with PD, care partners, clinicians, researchers, and advocacy organizations \u2014\u00a0including\u00a0three leaders affiliated with APDA<\/a>.\u202f\u00a0<\/p>\n The meeting included an overview of the\u00a0National Plan to End Parkinson\u2019s Request for Information Strategy<\/a>, which seeks input from the Parkinson\u2019s community on the most important gaps and opportunities in Parkinson\u2019s research, care, and services that will help inform the National Plan.\u00a0The ACPRCS wants to hear from you!\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>You can make your voice heard and\u00a0submit\u00a0a public comment on your top priorities for the National Plan to End Parkinson\u2019s by August 22, 2026 (please send your comments to\u00a0nationalPDplan@nih.gov<\/a>).\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n The Council is scheduled to meet three more times this year, on 8\/24\/2026, 11\/09\/2026,\u00a0and\u00a012\/07\/2026.
