Below are key highlights from the meeting, and a more detailed summary follows below:\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>APDA\u2019s President &amp; CEO, Leslie A. Chambers, advocated for the National Plan to End Parkinson\u2019s (NPEP) to include specific recommendations, such as increased federal investment in Parkinson\u2019s research and development of a care model for people with Parkinson\u2019s and their caregivers that improves access to high-quality, coordinated care over time.\u00a0\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>The APDA Connecticut (CT) Chapter highlighted local CT Parkinson\u2019s programming and described the importance of community engagement in Parkinson\u2019s programming and activities.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>The Council provided an update on the federal inventory of Parkinson\u2019s programs, which featured an overview of a common framework used for categorizing federal efforts.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>The ACPRCS Subcommittee on Research and Regulatory Program as well as the ACPRCS Subcommittee on Care, Services, and Supports each provided an update on their rosters, chairs, and discussed their initial work.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>People living with Parkinson\u2019s shared moving and inspirational personal stories and urged the Council to address the non-motor symptoms associated with Parkinson\u2019s disease, engage in policy efforts to ensure timely delivery of Parkinson\u2019s medication, and the need to invest in disease-modifying treatment.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>What Happens Next and How to Be Involved<\/strong>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">ACPRCS Next Steps:\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Council identified the following next steps for its work:\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Coordinate with the National Academy of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine (NASEM) for the Spring 2027 NASEM workshops to help develop recommendations for the NPEP\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Continue to develop a framework to inform the work of the ACPRCS subcommittees\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Finalize care, services, and supports definition to define the scope of work for the relevant ACPRCS subcommittee\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Identify professionals for the November 9, 2026, meeting focused on public-private partnerships and for other future ACPRCS engagements\u00a0\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Your Next Steps:<\/strong>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Attend the next ACPRCS public meeting on November 9, 2026\u00a0<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Attend the meeting virtually through the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hhs.gov\/live\/live-1\/index.html#13364\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">HHS Livestream<\/a>\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Register to attend the meeting in-person at the Hubert H.
