In our last update on the \u2018Dementia friendly parks\u2019 project we told you about the testing phase<\/a> getting underway as we develop an environmental self-assessment tool, accompanying guide and educational video. We\u2019re just coming to the end of the testing and would like to thank all of the wonderful sites that have been involved, especially during the recent heatwaves.<\/p>\n

As we move into the next phase of the project, we\u2019re pleased to say that there will be an opportunity for sites to apply to become a case study for the project. Six successful sites will each receive a capital grant of \u00a310,000 (inc. VAT) to make dementia friendly improvements to their outside space and to evaluate their outcomes. Applications are invited from any park, green space or nature reserve of any size in England, and you don\u2019t need to have been part of our testing phase.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Information about the case study application process is available on our project website at https:\/\/outdoordementiadesign.on.worc.ac.uk\/index.php\/case-studies\/<\/a>. We will be accepting applications from 1st<\/sup> September to 30th<\/sup> September, but you might find it useful to have a look at the guidance before applications open. Good luck!<\/p>\n
