October round-up
It’s been a busy time recently, so we thought we’d take the opportunity to take stock of what’s been going on. Here’s a quick overview of a few activities that we’ve been up to, that wouldn’t necessarily be a whole blog post on their own.
In October, alongside our ongoing project work, education courses and developing new funding bids, we have:
- Been part of the SPIN-D Network Plus Steering Committee Meeting and Conference
- Had an information stand at the Accessible Worcester mini-conference, where it was great to hear how our Dementia Awareness training has been beneficial for Visit Worcestershire
- Presented to the University Community Forum on ‘Working towards creating dementia friendly parks, outside spaces and nature reserves’, our ‘Dementia friendly parks’ project
- Presented on ‘Exploring access to dementia diagnosis and support in Herefordshire and Worcestershire’ as part of a Health Inequalities session for the Herefordshire and Worcestershire Health and Care NHS Trust 2026 Research & Development Conference
- Had a viewpoint paper on ‘Can people with dementia live well in housing with care?’ published in Working with Older People
- Participated in the 2026 World Dementia Council Summit which focused on ‘The New Patient: Before Symptoms, After Diagnosis’
- Delivered a webinar on ‘Understanding Dementia and the role of Social Housing’ to the Housing Diversity Network
- Attended the ‘Wear it Pink for Breast Cancer Awareness’ open morning at The Belmont Care Home in Worcester
This week we’ve also been at Alzheimer Europe Conference, but that might be covered more in a future blog…
