In our last update on the ‘Dementia friendly parks’ project we told you about the testing phase getting underway as we develop an environmental self-assessment tool, accompanying guide and educational video. We’re just coming to the end of the testing and would like to thank all of the wonderful sites that have been involved, especially during the recent heatwaves.
As we move into the next phase of the project, we’re pleased to say that there will be an opportunity for sites to apply to become a case study for the project. Six successful sites will each receive a capital grant of £10,000 (inc. VAT) to make dementia friendly improvements to their outside space and to evaluate their outcomes. Applications are invited from any park, green space or nature reserve of any size in England, and you don’t need to have been part of our testing phase.

We will be accepting applications from 1st September to 30th September, but you might find it useful to have a look at the guidance before applications open. Good luck!
